Our Journey

Since 2011, Decom Engineering has been a pioneer in subsea cutting innovation. We provide tailored engineering solutions for the energy sector, including renewable energy, oil and gas, and infrastructure. Our goal is to offer innovative, greener, faster, and safer cutting solutions. We have successfully completed over 150 projects globally and have a 100% success rate in clean cutting operations subsea to date.

What We Do

At the core of our business is our patented C1 Chopsaw range, which is known for its speed and precision. Our Chopsaws deliver clean cuts on materials up to 46 inches in outside diameter (OD). Our cutting tools are designed to be highly manoeuvrable and can clean-cut a large range of materials including carbon steel, super-duplex and thick plastic/ SPU coatings. We are also recognised as market leaders in severing mooring chains and risers, in tension, with unrivaled cut times and performance. 

Our core markets are focused as follows:

Decommissioning: We provide fast, clean-cuts on pipelines and subsea infrastructure (up to 46” OD), supporting the removal of aging offshore assets. 
IRM (Inspection, Repair & Maintenance): Our cutting tools provide reliable clean-cuts every time, minimising downtime and providing fast resolutions to our clients. 
Installation: The C1-Chopsaw range provides the ideal contingency for a rigid pipeline installation project. With attractive standby/ contingency options we provide peace of mind in the event of a ‘wet-buckle’.
Offshore Wind: Subsea cable cutting is a speciality of Decom and our tools are built to handle all blends of materials and armoring. We also work with clients to develop innovative cutting solutions for new industry challenges.
Nuclear and Onshore Cutting: By providing a ‘cold-cutting solution’ our tools are optimal for cutting in the nuclear market and we provide a cost effective solution to applications with extended decontamination periods.
